MASTER PETER LEUNG FROM CANADA

Picture
During the last week of April 2002, an invitation from Feng Shui Society of UK-to join friends on a study tour of architecture in docklands and spend some time with Peter and his wife Christine for the afternoon was received.

Having heard Peter at the Feng Shui Society of UK and having read his interview in March 2002 issue of Feng Shui News, I had no hesitation in grabbing this opportunity. For those of us who joined in, this was an elating experience and reminded me of the fantastic day with a similar study group including Roger Green, Suzie Jays and a Chinese Master Cheng at the British Airways headquarters in London.

We started our trip by underground towards docklands after a light lunch near West Brompton Road station, but by then, the Feng Shui eyes of Peter had already analysed  the Pub’s location, its surrounding area and why he thought the main door was not in the best position. It felt as if we had put on new glasses and started seeing things differently.

This was the first time ever that I was travelling by the well-known DLR docklands mini railway with glass windows all around, making a feast of the panorama unfolding around as we went along.

Peter started explaining... Fire shaped roofs are associated with violence. Curved roofs are associated with element water and therefore sex. Before we could notice the environment full of fire shaped roofs from this moving train on a warm and sunny afternoon, someone did mention that this was a slum area we were passing through.

Areas with green lush vegetation and leafy trees are prosperous and areas with lack of trees or leafless tress are usually poor, commented Peter, emphasising why Hollywood was so prosperous.

As a strong believer in the oldest form school Feng Shui principles, Peter even commented on the shape of the road in front of any property. If the road is curving out on the left, it means you can visualise the green dragon coming back towards you from the point where the properties on the opposite side meet the curving road. It means, the dragon (symbolic of helpful friend) is coming back and is good for you. Strong dragon on left is good and strong tiger on the right is not so good.

Pointing at a small building in front of the layers of tall buildings behind, he commented-“It is good to have layers of buildings behind, as it becomes a glass of water, which gets filled and gives good support.”

HSBC BUILDING IN LONDON

Picture
BY NOW WE HAD LEFT THE TRAIN and we  were on foot near  Canary wharf and HSBC building. He praised the rounded corners of the HSBC building confirming how sincerely they follow Feng Shui advice.

Commenting on the shape and the location of The Dome, being in the east is a good location and being wrapped around by water is also in its favour. Feng Shui is all about time and place and he felt that sooner or later someone will make money from the Dome’s location although the spiky upside down chop sticks like metal projections on an inverted rice bowl like shape, creates lot of Sha ch’i for the neighbourhood. There are also geological reasons for its failure so far, as it is believed that, the land under the Dome was a wasteland.

If your property is facing a T junction with a downward slope towards the main door, Peter suggested a water fountain in your front garden facing the main door is a powerful cure, as cascading water towards the front door brings lots of prosperity.

As there was plenty of time before our boat was to to depart from Greenwich Pier for our return journey, a long personal group discussion took place at Cutty-Sark. From then, until we reached the Westminster Pier, some of the comments from Peter on the architecture we were seeing during the cruise are as listed below.

River Thames along The Houses of Parliament...

Picture

River Thames is winding and curving and hence London’s prosperity. The river is flowing through London. Water is number one priority for money luck.

Pyramids are all Fire elements
. That is why they have deserts. Pyramids may have done damage to Egypt and to the Middle East, where there is no peace even now and there is so much political unrest between Israel and Palestinians.

Buckingham Palace has all the buildings on the right hand side and nothing on its left. White tiger is therefore very strong, which represents women and hence the royal family and the queen, who celebrated her Golden anniversary of reign, are very powerful in this country.

In the White House, the president sits with a window behind and hence he never stays powerful for a long period. The driveway in its front is a curve like spread out legs and that implies scandals of sexual nature.

Wavy roofs are acceptable. Metal and Earth shaped roofs are we like. Wood shape is Okay. Fire shape is the worst.

If the fire and water roofs are facing your home, you are likely to have problems of break-ins and relationships.

Buildings too close to water are dangerous. Isolated wood shaped buildings are not good as there is no support. For Bankers and Jewellers, rounded and oval shaped buildings are good as they represent metal.

Buildings with clear glass walls on all sides are poor, as the ch’i will not stay there. Any building should have at least one solid wall to conserve the ch’i.

Using the colour to paint the front door based upon the compass direction was not very important in his view.

Although 2, 5 and 8 are all earth elements,  No.5 is actually fire earth as there is lava underneath.
That is why, any water in Tai chi causes imbalance.

Avoid living in a building with shape of cascading steps on its outer surface
. The occupants of such buildings lose money as all the energy cascades down from the structure. Living in a lower floor of such a structure is better. Neighbouring homes benefit from the cascading energy coming towards them.

Animal faces used as main door attracts Sheng Ch’i and makes money. A hotel in Australia has a crocodile face as the main entrance and it is doing very well.

All obscure glass buildings such as the building of the new City Hall are not so good, as the glass deflects the ch’i.

London’s new City Hall building in the shape of a boiled egg or soup plates stacked upside down was described as unstable although it may be a triumph of technology.

The London Eye, the world’s largest observation wheel which towers 135 meters above the river Thames with a visibility of 25 miles around was classified as the most successful structure. It is modular, river Thames embraces it and the capsules use all five elements creating harmony and balance.

Aroon presenting a gift to Master Peter Leung on behalf of the FSS of UK in 2002

The four hour study tour seemed to come to an end in no time with such an insight so deep from a man who transforms a complex subject of Feng Shui into an absorbing story with his simple, generous and humorous manner. Master Peter Leung, who lives in Canada, did promise to share his knowledge with us again.....but till then we can learn a lot from this summary of his comments.
